Is Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Worth The Hype?

Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Review

Since summers are just getting more humid with every day, I thought of this as the perfect time to review the long-pending product. As we know, Benton is a Korean skincare company, which releases tons of new items all year, their facial marks are indispensable. I’ve been hearing mixed sort of feedback about the Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask, however, the best way is to try it myself. Without any adieu, let’s get started.

What’s So Special About Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask?

Let’s start with addressing the elephant in the room, what is the key ingredient that makes Benton Snail Bee Mask so distinctive? For me, the unique element would be the soothing glow that appears after using this mask.

Majorly, this glow is the by-product of snail secretion and bee venom, both of which are extremely important for even skin. Since most of the time I’m out, this mask does a lot in clearing my skin to the inner pores and ensures that in the end, the pores don’t remain open.

Another reason to choose Benton is that they keep the fragrances to a minute level so you hardly get a whiff. This mask is free of any sharp and pungent smell, yes, it does have an herby scent but comparatively to other market masks, it is way milder. The Willow extract present in the mask is an astringent that keeps the redness at bay.

If you are someone, who gets sunburns easily, this can be a godsend. Arbutin and Beta Glucan are truly transforming, but that’s not the end of discussion. I’ve given this mask multiple attempts to be thoroughly confirmed about its performance, let’s dive right in to explore it further.

How Is The Packaging?

This mask comes in a brown outer box that has quite a dull appearance, the company has kept the packaging quite basic. They have only mentioned the ingredients in black letters and that’s all, so I suggest you don’t judge the book by its cover both metaphorically and literally.

Next, the mask comes in a sachet that again is just like the box it depicts. There are 10 masks inside the box but considering the presence of thin serum, I was impressed by the leakage-proof packing. The box contains 20 g of the ingredients and carries instructions in both Korean and English. The crux of this section is that if you are like me who does count packaging while rating a product, this can be a big disappointment. Moving on, let us see how the product itself performs.

What Does The Ingredients Table Show?

It doesn’t matter whether you are a beauty grow or a layman like me, we all love reading ingredients.

The hero ingredients have been mentioned earlier which are the snail secretion filtrate and been venom. Moving on, I shall highlight other interesting ingredients, as like most Korean skin care products, their ingredients are so many in one single product, that it seems like the ingredients are going to explode.

This can tell about 50% of the product’s performance even before its application. First things first, the use of Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water instead of the ordinary water deserves all the appreciation. This is great to cure the never-ceasing acne production or the oil glands that make your skin look hideously shiny.

Next, the Pentylene Glycol works a lot to rejuvenate the dull skin. Especially in summers, it controls the oil that can ruin all the glam makeup look. There is one thing here that I don’t find quite amusing, alcohols are harsh for the dry skin since they can cause excessive dryness. If you have such a dry skin that you use moisturizers even in the scorching heat, I won’t suggest you go for this face mask, nothing dulls the skin more than acutely dry patches.

Extracts like Bark, Asiatica, and Digitata extract give off the instant cooling vibe to the skin, they feel slimy, but the soothing in the beginning is pretty nourishing.

Coming to the Azelaic Acid and Butylene Glycol, again the same thing, such a massive amount of alcohol is sure to cause a disaster on the sensitive skin. This was the first thing that alarmed me while reading the ingredients on the box. Other than all this, it still has beneficial elements like snail secretion filtrate, fruit essence, rose extract, and bee venom that made me look on the brighter side and I proceeded to apply this on my face.

Which Is The Best Skin Type To Use It?

The box declares Benton Snail Bee Mask perfect for all skin types. They emphasize on the dry and acne-prone skins, especially significant for the people who have been fighting acne for ages. What attracted my eyes was the promise of exceptional outcomes for the people who go out. The strong composition works to fight all the pollutants that stick to the superficial layer of your skin and tear of the skin cells.

I have a combination skin that falls more on the sensitive side. Lately, I have been observing acne spots and a little pigmentation as well, I have high hopes, let’s start with the fingers crossed.

How To Apply Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask?

For the first-timers. I won’t advise you to go for the straight application. First, cleanse, exfoliate, and tone your face and let the skin rest for a while. For a  full 10 steps Korean skin care, you can refer to my post on Korean Skin Care routine. When your face feels pretty damp, carefully take the mask out of the sheet and apply it on your face. The foremost thing that is very basic is to make sure that there are no air bubbles that produce a gap between your skin and the mask.

Benton Snail Bee Mask has a medium-sized cotton sheet. The cotton isn’t of very fine texture. I’d say it feels as if you are holding a moist tissue sheet in your hands. The size of the mask for me wasn’t satisfying, I had to cut it a little from the chin side but later that worked out fine. They have designed the eye sockets perfectly so that is a good innovation. You can leave it for at least 40 minutes on your skin while you do any other chore.

How Does It Feel On The Skin?

It feels relaxing on the skin. A cotton mask isn’t that absorptive because soon the essence dripping starts and you have no idea how to tackle it. I usually collect this dripping in the same mask’s sachet and use it again where the mask starts drying.

My Take On The Final Results

I was super excited because of all the hype this mask has generated in the town. Let me start with the initial results. At first, after taking off the mask and wiping the extra essence on the mask with the cotton, I felt my skin appeared shinier.

There comes the climax, I have redness around the nose and on the forehead. I thought since the company claims this mask to be an epitome of soothing products, it could cure my redness. This felt real for an hour. After that, the redness was the same just as before and so were the dark patches.

The Essence Of The Mask

The concentrations seem surreal but once you get to apply it, instead of moisturizing, it feels more watery and slippery. The hydration is pretty moderate which is a big drawback, once we consider the never-ending essence drippings. Moreover, if you have allergies or sunburns, I find that it can make you happy for the first few hours. This means that if you have to go out or join a party, it can be your savior. But the results are transient, not permanent at all.

Lastly, the biggest concern that I have is the face acne that just won’t go away. Being honest, this was the first thing that made me go for this mask. Let me tell you that it does feel for a while that your acne just disappeared, but the reality is different. When the mask’s fickle effects end, there lies the acne in the full glory. If you are looking for an acne curing product, this mask doesn’t come up to the par.

To cut the chase, for me, this mask is best to get that glowing skin for the sudden plans. But as a skincare product, you may find it not up to expectation.

Pros:

  • Best way to get an instant soothing effect.
  • The skin looks brightened, gives off shiny vibes.
  • Your skin does feel more plumped than ever. This is a big pro if you have a greyish skin tone.
  • The essence feels hydrating on the skin.
  • Cures redness, itchiness, and allergies for a while.
  • Best to go out for sudden party plans or friends gatherings.

Cons:

  • The first con is the transient performance, the changes it brings are pleasant but fickle.
  • It doesn’t put an end to ether irritation or acne.
  • The brightness fades away in an hour or two maximum.
  • The packaging looks boring

If I buy it again that’d be only for the immediate effect for which it deserves two stars. Other than this, I didn’t find the performance worth this level of hype. MORE INFO PLEASE
